Harvie Jordan was a founding member of AATIA in 1984 and a passionate advocate for translators and interpreters. After Harvie’s passing in 2002, then-President Michael Blumenthal launched the Harvie Jordan Fund and invited members and the community of T&I professionals to donate in Harvie’s honor.
In 2024, AATIA President Maria Nelson established the AATIA Harvie Jordan Scholarship to carry forward this legacy of service and to honor one of our founding members. She established a committee and recruited other T&I language professionals to serve. Committee members can be viewed here: https://aatia.org/our-team/
