The instructor has selected extracts from actual texts that an interpreter might be called on to sight translate in five content areas: criminal (drugs), civil (commercial contract), family (divorce), probate (property description) and juvenile (text messages). The webinar will include a practical component that will give interpreters hands-on practice.
Saturday, August 6, 2022 | 1:30 – 43e45 p.m. (CE hours: 2)
This is a 2-hour ethics course on ethical dilemmas that court interpreters may face in court settings, particularly dilemmas having to do with written translations, errors or omissions in the renditions of other interpreters, and the use of non-professional interpreters in court settings. This interactive webinar will aid licensed court interpreters in determining how to act when facing such ethical dilemmas.
