Apply now for the 2024 AATIA Harvie Jordan Scholarship

Harvie Jordan

The newly created AATIA Harvie Jordan Scholarship is an annual $500 scholarship awarded for the first time this year to one qualified applicant. This scholarship is based on financial need and a demonstrated commitment to attaining a license or certification in the field of interpretation or translation.

Harvie Jordan was one of AATIA’s founders and was passionate about supporting and mentoring newcomers to the profession. When Harvie died in 2002, AATIA member Michael Blumenthal spearheaded a drive to set up a fund in Harvie’s memory to continue supporting and advancing our community of T&I professionals.

The AATIA Scholarship Committee announced the scholarship on August 6 to honor Michael on the fourth anniversary of his death, on August 6, 2020.

The application deadline is October 1, 2024.
