The Importance of the Translator’s/Interpreter’s Mental/Psychological Health

Aatia

Please join Rita Pavone, PhD, MPhil, MA, CCMS, our AATIA ISIG coordinator, on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2021, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM for a virtual meeting.

Rita will take this opportunity to have a conversation about the importance of mental/psychological health and how to recognize the signs of vicarious trauma. Interpreters and translators have very busy schedules, frequently have to manage multiple projects/assignments, and are confronted with technologies, contexts, and/or subject matters that may bring stress or a sense of nervousness. Furthermore, perceptions and personal experiences can bring another layer of uneasiness.

Rita recently held a webinar with great participation on that exact topic. Please contact Rita for the Zoom link and meeting details.
