Registration for online ATA exam open

The American Translators Association (ATA) has announced that registration for the online ATA certification exam is now open.

ATA Certification offers qualified and independent evidence that a translator possesses professional competence in a specific language combination. It recognizes translators with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide quality translation.

You must be an ATA member to register for an exam — review the schedule and register HERE. After you register, you will be contacted by ATA’s exam hosting company with instructions to schedule your exam. You have 30 days from the time you register to schedule and take the online exam.

How to Prepare for the Exam
The ATA exam is costly ($525, plus the cost of ATA membership if you are not already a member) and the pass rate is low (around 20% overall). ATA therefore strongly recommends that potential exam candidates take a practice test first to gauge their readiness to sit for the exam. Practice tests are available to anyone – you don’t have to be an ATA member to take one.
