Translation opportunities in the e-book & print-on-demand markets to be explored at Jan.14th meeting
Online platforms such as Kindle, iBooks or Google Play Books, as well as print-on-demand services, now offer independent authors the opportunity to self-publish their work. Some of the most successful indie authors are now looking beyond the English-language market. Our first general meeting of the year, on January 14th, will explore ways in which translators can tap into this growing demand.
Our presenter will be Frank Dietz, PhD, who is an English-German translator specializing in technical translation and software localization. Frank, also a longtime AATIA member, gave a very well-received presentation on software localization at our general meeting on September 10th, 2015.
At this first meeting of the year, the Board will also take the opportunity to engage members in a discussion of what future meeting and workshop topics they would find most useful, so please come prepared with suggestions!
We will meet at our usual location, Best Western Plus Austin City Hotel, 2200 S Interstate 35, Austin, TX 78704. The hotel is located at the intersection of East Oltorf and I-35. We’ll get started at 1 pm.
